Tips 4 Tuesday #4: Lead with Your Strengths

Tips 4 Tuesday #4: Lead with Your Strengths

You’ve clarified your purpose. You’ve re-energized. Now, it’s time to unlock your full potential by leading through your unique strengths.

The best leaders don’t try to be everything to everyone. Instead, they Name, Claim, and Aim their natural talents. Here’s how:

Tip #1: Name Your Strengths

You can’t use what you don’t recognize. Take time to identify your top talents—the things that come naturally to you and set you apart. (If you’ve taken the CliftonStrengths assessment, revisit your results.)

Tip #2: Claim Your Strengths

Your talents aren’t accidents—they’re your competitive advantage. Own them. Think about times you’ve been at your best and how these strengths played a role. Which strength do you lean on the most?

Tip #3: Aim Your Strengths

Strengths only create impact when intentionally applied. Ask yourself:

  • How can I use my strengths to solve a current challenge?
  • How can my strengths help my team succeed?
  • Where am I not using my strengths enough?

Tip #4: Stop Fixing Weaknesses

Most leaders waste energy trying to “fix” weaknesses instead of amplifying strengths. You’ll grow faster and further by focusing on what you naturally do best.

 Your Challenge This Week:

Choose one strength to focus on and actively apply it to your work and leadership.
